Our rice
What types of rice does Sajid Virk Industries (PVT) LTD offer?

We offer a wide variety of rice, including Super Basmati, 1121, Traditional Basmati, Pakistani Basmati D-98, PK-386, IRRI-6, IRRI-9 and Brown Rice. Our range covers both basmati and non-basmati rice to suit different needs and preferences. See Our Products for full specifications.

What makes your Basmati rice varieties unique?

Our basmati is grown in the Punjab basmati belt, milled in our own facility and tested in our labs, so each variety has long slender grains, a natural aroma and consistent cooking quality.

What is the difference between Super Basmati White Rice and Super Basmati Steam Rice?

White rice is milled and polished for a soft, delicate texture and fragrant aroma. Steam rice is steam-treated to lock in nutrients and flavour, which gives slightly firmer grains that stay separate, ideal for pilaf and stir-fried dishes.

What is the difference between steam and parboiled rice?

Steam rice is gently steamed after milling for a firm, fluffy grain. Parboiled (sella) rice is partially boiled in the husk before milling, which gives a golden colour, a firmer texture, more retained nutrients and less stickiness.

What is the advantage of 1121 Sella Basmati Rice over other varieties?

1121 Sella has some of the longest grains in the world (8.00 to 8.30 mm) and is parboiled, so it cooks up golden, fluffy and non-sticky. It holds up well in long cooking, which makes it a favourite for Middle Eastern, South Asian and Mediterranean dishes.

Is Pakistani Basmati D-98 different from other Basmati varieties?

Yes. D-98 has slightly shorter grains (6.8 to 7.00 mm) and a unique flavour. It is especially popular in the Middle East for traditional dishes.

What makes Super Basmati Parboiled Rice a good choice for certain dishes?

Because it is partially boiled in the husk, it keeps more nutrients and is less sticky. The grains stay firm and separate, which is ideal for pilafs, biryanis and other dishes that need distinct grains.

Which rice is best for large-scale catering or institutional cooking?

IRRI-6 Long Grain is our most economical option and is widely used in bulk catering and food service. IRRI-9 is another dependable choice for high-volume kitchens.

What is the nutritional difference between Brown Rice and White Rice?

Brown rice keeps its bran layer, so it has more fibre, magnesium and antioxidants than white rice. Per 100 g it has about 340 kcal and 2.2 g fat, compared with about 365 kcal for Super Basmati White.

Why should I choose 1121 White Basmati Rice for special occasions?

1121 White has extra-long grains that elongate beautifully when cooked, plus an aromatic fragrance. It makes an impressive centrepiece for biryani, pilaf and royal cuisine.

Which rice variety is best suited for daily use?

PK-386 Long Grain and IRRI-9 are great for everyday meals. If you prefer basmati every day, Super Basmati White is a popular choice.

What is the best rice variety for health-conscious consumers?

Brown Rice. It is unpolished, so it keeps the bran layer with its extra fibre, magnesium and antioxidants.
